I was in the bathroom of our 2nd story apartment in Milwaukee when I heard screaming coming through the window. Our friend G. was on her way over with some papers, but I didn't realize what had happened until she called me a minute later to say she'd been bitten on the thigh in the alley behind my house by the large dog that lived next door. I took her to the emergency room -- it was frightening for us both, but much more painful for her!

Marvin's title for this piece isn't exactly accurate however, since Glenda is still unafraid of dogs. She might be a little more cautious of them, but is a true animal-lover who still believes all creatures are potential friends.
